The name “Cinco Soldos” (Five Soldos) was the result of my own research into Portuguese history and olive oil heritage. While exploring old legal codes, I came across a forgotten law from the time of the monarchy: anyone who uprooted someone else’s tree would be fined three soldos, but if the tree was an olive tree, the fine rose to five soldos.

This detail, largely unknown today, revealed how highly valued the olive tree was in Portuguese culture. By uncovering this story and connecting it to the brand, I created a name that honors both the tradition and the importance of olive oil in Portugal.
